China Exim Bank: the total amount of foreign trade industry loans in 2021 is 1.6 trillion yuan

The Export-Import Bank of China (EXIM), a state-owned policy bank supporting China’s foreign economic, trade and investment development as well as international economic cooperation, will continue to increase its support for foreign trade in 2021.By the end of 2021, the Export-Import Bank’s outstanding loans in domestic and foreign currencies were 4.7 trillion yuan, up 9.4 percent from the beginning of the year, of which the outstanding loans in RMB exceeded 3.5 trillion yuan, up 450 billion yuan from the beginning of the year.In terms of supporting foreign trade industry, by the end of 2021, the loan balance of foreign trade industry was 2.4 trillion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of more than 17%.A total of 1.6 trillion yuan was lent to the foreign trade industry throughout the year, supporting the development of new forms and models of trade such as overseas warehouses and cross-border e-commerce.By the end of 2021, loans related to the Belt and Road had reached 1.95 trillion yuan, an increase of over 11% over the same period last year, supporting green and low-carbon transformation and sustainable development in countries along the Belt and Road, and promoting the implementation of a large number of clean energy and ecological conservation projects such as wind power, hydropower and solar power.(CCTV reporter Wang Shantao)
